What is Fast Pass?

Modified on Wed, 9 Sep at 11:15 AM

Fast Pass is the faster of TradeDay's two evaluation pathways, built for traders who value speed and momentum. There are no minimum trading days in the evaluation, if you can hit the target while staying disciplined and consistent, you can pass in 3 days. Payouts follow a defined structure of profitable days and caps, and the account will be moved to Funded Live after your fifth payout.

The Evaluation

Fast Pass evaluations come in four sizes, with all drawdowns calculated at End of Day:

25K50K100K150K
Profit target$1,500$3,000$6,000$9,000
Maximum drawdown$1,000$2,000$3,000$4,500
Position limit2 Contracts (20 Micros)
5 contracts (50 micros)10 contracts (50 micros)15 contracts (50 micros)

The objectives are straightforward.

  1. Reach the profit target, your total net profit over the course of the challenge.

  2. Stay consistent: no single day can make up more than 45% of your total profits

  3. And follow the one risk rule that governs everything: don't hit or exceed the maximum drawdown. Profit targets, position limits, and drawdown amounts mirror Quick Pay. There are no activation fees, and resets are available.

The Funded Sim Account

Passing moves you into a Funded Sim account with the same End of Day drawdown as your evaluation. There are no milestones, and no buffer to build before withdrawing.

Position limits work differently here than in the evaluation. You start at 1 contract on a 25K, 2 contracts on a 50K account, 3 on a 100K, and 4 on a 150K (or 20/30/40 micros), and your limit scales up by 1 contract for every $2,000 of profit, calculated at End of Day.

How Payouts Work

To qualify for a payout, your account needs to meet all of the following:

  • your balance must be above your starting balance,
  • you must show a net profit since your previous payout,
  • you must complete at least 5 individual profitable trading days (they don't need to be consecutive),
  • for accounts opened on and after July 26 2026, accounts must satisfy the consistency objective.
  • and the request must be at least $250.

A "profitable day" has a minimum size depending on your account tier

  • $150 per day on a 50K,
  • $200 on a 100K,
  • $250 on a 150K.

Payouts are capped at 50% of your account balance, with a hard ceiling per tier:

For accounts opened on and after July 26 2026, the payout caps are as below:

  • $1,500 on a 50K,
  • $1,850 on a 100K
  • $2,250 on a 150K.

For accounts opened before July 26 2026, the payout caps are as below:

  • $2,000 on a 50K,
  • $2,500 on a 100K
  • $3,000 on a 150K.

For accounts opened on and after July 26 2026, accounts must satisfy the consistency objective: no single day can make up more than 45% of your total gross profits (gross profits being current profits + payouts)

For accounts opened before July 26 2026, there is no consistency objective in the Funded Sim account.

All Funded Sim payouts are made at an 80/20 profit split. After each payout, your new balance becomes the starting point for your next payout cycle, you'll need to be profitable from that new level and post five more qualifying days before requesting again.

Once you submit a payout request, do not resume trading until you have received your payout. Your next Day 1 begins at the start of the following trading session, not the session in which the payout was received. For example: if you request a payout on Wednesday at 7 PM CT and receive it on Thursday at 3 AM CT, that Thursday morning falls within the Thursday session (5 PM CT Wednesday – 4 PM CT Thursday). Day 1 of your new cycle does not begin until the Friday session opens at 5 PM CT Thursday, with that day counting once it closes at 4 PM CT Friday. For payouts processed on a Saturday, Day 1 of your new cycle is the Monday session, which runs from 5 PM CT Sunday to 4 PM CT Monday.

On your first payout request, if your trailing maximum drawdown hasn't yet caught up to the starting account balance, it will automatically move up to the starting balance and stay fixed there from then on.

The Transition to Funded Live

You will be moved to funded live on your fifth payout request. The Funded Sim account is closed, and a new Funded Live account is opened with a $0 starting balance, the same End of Day drawdown from your original account tier, and the same starting position limits as your Funded Sim account (2, 3, or 4 contracts depending on tier). Any future increases to those limits are granted solely at the discretion of the TradeDay trading team.

If a trader is demonstrating consistency in the funded sim account, TradeDay may move the trader to funded Live before the 5th payout request.

Full details on the Fast Pass funded live route can be found here.

Funded Live

How the buffer works:

Every Funded Live account starts at $0. Using a $50K account as an example, the TMD is $1500, so the floor starts at -$1500. As your balance grows, the floor trails up dollar-for-dollar. To clear the buffer, you need to grow the account to $2000, which moves the floor from -$1500 up to +$500. That +$500 is your slippage buffer, now locked in and protected.

When you can actually withdraw: Once you've cleared the buffer at $2000, you can withdraw. Part of this ($500) is your protected buffer, not tradable capital, so you need to leave more than $500 in the account to have actual money to trade with on top of it. For example, you could withdraw $500, leaving a $1500 balance: $500 of that stays protected as your buffer, and the remaining $1000 is what you trade with. The account balance can never touch or drop below $500. If it does, the account closes and what's left of the $500 is paid out to you.

All withdrawals from Funded Live accounts are subject to a 90/10 profit split, with you keeping 90%.

You can hold a maximum of 5 Funded Live accounts at any one time.

If you lose a Funded Live account, you'll enter a mandatory 3-month cooling-off period during which you won't be eligible to participate in TradeDay evaluations. Once it ends, you can apply for new evaluations by emailing FundedTrader@TradeDay.com.
