Can I access risk settings?

Modified on Thu, 24 Apr at 12:05 PM

At this time, risk settings are not available on Tradovate accounts.

Setting a Daily Loss Limit, Weekly Loss Limit, Daily Profit Trigger, or Weekly Profit Trigger in Tradovate causes positions to auto-liquidate, resulting in trading permissions being revoked and therefore failing the evaluation and Funded SIM accounts.

We are working to find a solution as soon as possible.

Yes, you are able to manage your risks. You are able to adjust the following:

  • Position Risk or Profit Brackets
  • Trading Lock-Out
  • Personal Daily Loss Limit
  • Personal Daily Profit Target
  • Trade Limits
  • Lock Risk Settings
  • Trade Clock

How to set Personal Daily Loss Limit (PDLL)

1. Go to Risk Settings

2. To enable the PDLL, enter the amount you're comfortable losing in a single day. (e.g., $100, $300 depending on your risk tolerance).

3. For the PDLL action, you have 3 options:

-  If Do Nothing is selected, then the PDLL functionality is disabled.

-  If Liquidate is selected, then upon reaching the PDLL, all positions in the account will be liquidated.        The action will then be reset to Do Nothing.

-  If Liquidate and Block is selected, then upon reaching the PDLL, all positions in the account will be         liquidated, and the account will be blocked from trading until the next trading day.

Note: When an account is liquidated and blocked, it cannot be reversed. The account will be blocked from trading until the next trading day.

Further information on how to set the other risk parameters can be found here.
