Can I trade longer term positions?

Modified on Wed, 14 May at 2:04 PM

The quick answer is no, we do not allow traders to carry long-term open positions.

TradeDay is a day trading firm, and all positions must be closed before the market close of each specific product. While overnight trading is permitted, any position opened must still be closed by the end of the next trading day.

For example, Crude Oil futures close at 4:00 PM CT and reopen at 5:00 PM CT. You may open a position after 5:00 PM, but it must be closed by 4:00 PM the following day.

To support this policy, we’ve introduced a "Close at End of Day" feature that will automatically close any open positions before the product's daily market close. This helps you stay compliant and manage risk effectively.
