How much of my trading profits do I get to keep?

For all evaluations purchased after 00.01CT February 19th, 2025, the following profit share applies (Evaluations purchased before this date are subject to the payout policy that existed when the subscription was purchased; see the end of this FAQ).

The percentage of profits the trader will receive when they make a withdrawal request will depend on the profit share tier the trader is in. Profit share tiers are calculated from the total lifetime withdrawals a trader has had at TradeDay and apply to withdrawals of profits above the buffer zone:

Tier 1: Lifetime withdrawals from $1 to $50K:  80% to the trader

Tier 2: Lifetime withdrawals from $50K to $100K: 90% to the trader

Tier 3: Lifetime withdrawals above $100K: 95% to the trader

Profits that are withdrawn from the buffer zone are subject to a 50% share with TradeDay.

Here are some examples:

  1. Payout request, not into the buffer: A trader on a $50K Funded Sim account earns $4000, and it is their first withdrawal from TradeDay. They have no prior withdrawals. They have cleared the TMD, as their account is above $50,000 at a $54,000 balance, with the “buffer” at $52,000.

The trader requests a $2000 payout, which takes their account down to, but not into the buffer ($52,0000). This will reduce the trading account balance by $2000 from $54K to $52K, and $1600 will be paid to the trader. The 80/20% split in the trader’s favor on the $2000 withdrawal is $1600 to the trader and $400 to TradeDay.

  1. Payout request into the buffer: A trader on a $50K Funded Sim account earns $4000, and it is their first withdrawal from TradeDay. They have no prior withdrawals. They have cleared the TMD, as their account is above $50,000 at a $54,000 balance, with the “buffer” at $52,000.

The trader requests a $3000 payout. In this example, part of the withdrawal will be into the “buffer zone”(below the $52,000 level). This will reduce the trading account balance by $3000 from $54k to $51k, and $2100 will be paid to the trader. The 80/20% split in the trader’s favor on the first $2000 withdrawal is $1600 to the trader and $400 to TradeDay. The 50/50% split on the $1000 withdrawal into the buffer is $500 to the trader and $500 to TradeDay. So, the trader’s total payout will be $1600+$500=$2100, and TradeDay’s split will be $400+$500=$900.

For all active subscriptions opened before 00.01CT February 19th, 2025, the payout policy and profit share remains what it was at the time of sign up.
