What happens if I lose internet connection?

We strongly recommend you do not trade unless you are confident in your internet connection.

To reduce the risks of facing uncontrollable trading losses when your internet goes down, we recommend that all traders enter a protective stop at the time of establishing a position.

This stop-loss order is worked server side, meaning that the order is not held on your computer, and is not vulnerable to a loss of internet connection. The order is worked on the trading platform servers, hosted in the Exchanges data center.

So if you lose your internet connection, you can be confident that your stop-loss order is still being worked in the market, protecting your PnL.

We also recommend downloading the Tradovate mobile application, as you can trade and manage your orders from your cell phone if your home internet connection goes down.
